Spring Cleaning Checklist For Sellers

Spring is in the air! After a long winter, many people who have been thinking about selling their homes will finally take the plunge. Spring can be a great time to sell your house, but there are several steps that must be taken in order to sell quickly. Deep cleaning your home is one of the most important steps.

Spring is a popular time for many homeowners to tackle the disorganization and layers of dust that may have built up over the winter and the rest of the preceding year, but this process is especially critical for sellers. To help make the job easier, Arrowhead Title, Inc. has compiled a spring cleaning checklist for you. While you can certainly add to this list, completing these tasks at a minimum will help you set yourself up for a successful (and hopefully speedy) sale.

Spring Cleaning Checklist - GENERAL ORGANIZATION

While you're at it, this is a great time to tackle the organization and decluttering projects that are also essential to selling a home. Here are a few suggestions to help you get started.
  • Replace any burnt-out light bulbs
  • Clean the windows and window sills
  • Wipe down the baseboards
  • Remove all items from your kitchen counter except a few basic appliances (like your coffee maker)
  • Clean electric outlets and light switch plates
  • Wipe down all the doorknobs
  • Organize and downsize the items in your closets (emptier closets look bigger)
  • Organize and downsize all the items on your bookshelves, desks, tables, and other surfaces
  • Fold and put away all blankets and throws

If it sounds like a lot of work, that's because it is. However, cleaning your home in this manner will make its listing photos stand out and help all prospective buyers feel comfortable and at home in your space. Trust us - a clean property makes all the difference in the world!
